Abstract

Taking cue from the dissertation on some fundamental stages of the History of Geology and Physical Geography, a criticism is expressed of the present trend in the English-speaking world to take into account what has only been made in English. Unfortunately that is true not only with regard to present research but also to the reconstruction of the evolution of scientific thought. This seems historically distorting and not very useful from a scientific point of view.
